Favourite colour combo in layers

Two Scratch Nails polishes, first the turquoise Camouflage, then Hologram Gold. I have a thing for this colour combination, it’s one of my top ten faves. Maybe I should have a themed week with my favourite colour combinations..?

Anyways, Camouflage is one of the two newest additions to the Scratch family, a soft muted, cool toned, greenish turquoise. It will have a post of its own. Hologram Gold has grown to be one of my favourite top coats, it reminds me of a micro-version of NYX Gilded Glitter with much smaller “chunks” mixed with prismatic glitter that makes it come alive. I’m dying to try it over white.

Stitches

I’m a little hooked on stitches right now, the simple kind you use to mend stuff. The beauty of simplicity I guess! Base here is CND Oil Slick, a polish that for some reason will not photograph sharp. Very odd. The stitches are made with Essence nail art pen #06.

More Atlantis

Ok ok, being the geek I am, you know I cannot resist some trivia about Atlantis. Atlantis is a mythical island/continent described by Plato:

…there lay an island which was larger than Libya and Asia together; and it was possible for the travelers of that time to cross from it to the other islands, and from the islands to the whole of the continent over against them which encompasses that veritable ocean.

China Glaze’s interpretation really hits home if you ask me, it really does make me think of a mysterious place hidden in a blue haze guarded by Poseidon. Or of a deep blue-green ocean that shimmers like crazy when the sun hits it, beautiful and secretive and dangerous, hiding a dark secret (like maybe a continent) beneath its seductive surface.

This is two coats of Atlantis over one coat of deep-blue jelly NYX Ink Heart. No top coat. I will post a Rijah-style swatch on Atlantis soon! This is a polish worth exploring.
